Hanley Ramirez. He has much more pop than Reyes, and I don't like how Reyes fell apart in the 2nd half last year. I loved Hanley's statement of how they were gonna beat the Mets the last game of the year. -Petey

You want a poor-defensive singles hitter as your shortstop? Jeter's good, but Hanley is much, much better (even now).
I've only watched and really paid attention to 5 of them, and out of those guys, Hanley is the best. Plus, I'd like to include that I hate Derek Jeter.

Reyes. Especially if you are making an all-star team like this, you want someone electric at the top of the lineup. Funny how no one mentioned how bad Hanley is on defense, where Reyes is head and shoulders above him.
In his two years in the bigs, Ramirez has had 26 and 24 errors. Reyes worst was 18 errors in 2005. He had 12 last year. So far Hanley only has one error this season, but it's still early. Reyes has a lot more range than Han-Ram. Reyes has the better glove, is better on the basepaths, and is a leadoff hitter. He also strikes out a lot less than Ramirez.

He still has a lot to learn about the game.
I go with Reyes. He's only going to get better. He's amazing on the basepaths. He's a very solid defensive SS with some great range and a very good arm. He's also a good leadoff hitter, which is a pretty high commodity anymore. He's also going to continue to progress as a hitter, both average-wise and power-wise. I think it's him easily, and I'm a freaking Yankees fan.

While Ramirez were determined to keep the Mets out of the playoffs. Don't remember that? I find that admirable considering they had nothing else to play for. -Petey
The Marlins won 3 outta 7 agains the Mets in September, hardly "determined to keep them out of the playoffs". Did you expect Hanley to just mail the season in? He basically has nothing to play for this year, too. -THE DADDY

Forget this? <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"I don't care if it's broke," said Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez, who left the game after being struck on the left hand by a pitch from Maine (X-rays showed the hand was not broken). The following day the Marlins spanked Glavine for 7 in lessing than an inning to start off the game. I'm a big fan of guys that will play all out like that. I think it's pretty underrated. -Petey
