He was an inconsistent perimeter shooter, except when a ballgame was racing toward the final buzzer. And if he wasn't an exceptional man-to-man defender, Bird compensated by playing smart team defense. Although he was rather slow afoot, he seemed to always be in the right place at the right time. Bird was also an incredibly alert passer, a sure-handed rebounder, and a resourceful scorer. His competitive edge was unparalleled, as was his toughness. But Bird's biggest plus was his ability to anticipate the unfolding of every critical play a heartbeat ahead of everybody else.</div> I think Pippen should have been number 2...
I pretty much agree with that list. Ive never seen Havilicek or Barry play so i can't really rank them.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Waneko:</div><div class="quote_post">Bernard King is somewhere close to the top 5.</div> You beat me to it
You guys can't mention best SF without mentioning Dominque Wilkins. Pippen was great, but Nique would KILL him. Hands down, Nique is probably 2nd behind the Birdman.
Wow there are so many Pippen haters these days it's just insane. Just because he didn't average godly stats people think he isn't a great player. But stats never tell the whole story. First of all Pippen played second fiddle almost his entire career and still posted up amazing stats. AND, he is one of the best defensive players of all time IMO. Those 2 add up to something. Bernard King should've been on the list hands down.

He called Dr J the best finisher of all time (VC), when instead he pioneered the art of acrobatic dunking. I agree w/ wade though. Scotty had incredible all-around stats like Grant Hill did. I read the year Mikey left for baseball Scotty led the team in scoring, steals, blocks, rebounds and assists. wtf.
