If you're a GM and have your choice of third baseman over the next five years, who are you taking? Vote and then give reasons why! If you vote other, please tell us who you think it should be. Poll will be up for five days or until it's clear who the winner is. We will do all positions, including Starter, Setup Man, Closer, and Designated Hitter. Previous Selections: Catcher: Joe Mauer (Minnesota) First Base: Albert Pujols (St. Louis) Second Base: Chase Utley (Philadelphia)
Gotta go with ARod. There are a lot of other good players on this list...but he's still young enough that in the next 5 years, I'm still going to want to have him on my team

Until he can consistently make the routine throw to first base, he shouldn't be a gold glove winner. He's a great player, but he's not on A-Rod's level. And Cabrera's D is almost laughable.
If we are going present to 5 yrs from now; its gotta be Zimmerman. The best SS to 3B convert is not Payrod but Chipper who btw is off to a smokin hot start.
Cabrera is a 1st baseman as of today. He's not a 3B, anyway. He's just going to move positions until he's old enough to get monstrously fat and become a DH.

Because this poll is for the best player FOR THE NEXT five years, NOT the best player IN five years, I voted for ARod. If the poll was who will be the best third baseman in five years, I would have voted for Wright.
