Who had the better rookie season. Lebron James or Chris Paul?Lebrons rookie stats: 20.9 ppg 5.9 rpg 5.5 apg 1.65 spg 39.5 minutes per game3.46 Turnovers per game.Team record: 35-47Chris Paul's rookie stats: 16.1 ppg 5.1 rpg 7.8 apg 2.24 spg2.35 turnovers per game.Team record: 38-44
sheesh, this is actually close. Chris Paul would have had the edge if the hornets were to make the playoffs. But i'll take Paul's because of one thing.. expectations. I mean, who really expected Chris Paul to lead his team anywhere near .500? Everyone expected LeBron to be great, no one expected Paul to be like this.
I'll give it to Paul. He got his teammates more involved and made some of them better. he is a unanimous ROY. LeBron battled with Carmelo for it.

This years draft class was weak...
I'll go with Paul just because LeBron had more talent around him. Gosh good topic though, tough choice.
Chris Paul was phenominal. He averaged 8 apg as a rookie compared to Lebrons 5.5.He averaged many more steals, Less turnovers, and lead a worse team to a better record.Give me Chris Paul.
This is just a stab at Lebron. Alright, alright Ill go with Chris Paul.Let's see if Paul can average 28, 7, 7 in his second season...

Chris Paul. He had less to work with and led his team to a better record than LeBron did in his rookie season, and no one really expected the Hornets to be that good. Everybody was expecting them to be one of the three worst teams in the league this year.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Lazy @ Apr 29 2006, 05:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Its simple...Chris Paul. Chris Paul took his team to a winning record, Lebron didnt.</div>38-44 is a winning season?I'll take Chris Paul. Less points and rebounds, but mroe assists and less turnovers. Also led his team to a better record in a much tougher conference, with comparable talent on both sides
Paul had the better season. He got his Hornets farther than anyone thought they would go, and Paul came in pretty much under the radar to do it.You have to keep in mind though that James came straight out of highschool for his first season. James had a better rookie season than anyone straight out of highschool that I can think of off the top of my head.
I'll take Chris Paul.Lebron lead his team to a decent record, and should have made the playoffs in his first year, but that team took a dive towards the end of the year.Yes Chris Paul's team did the same thing, but the Hornets are in the same division as the Spurs, Mavs, and Grizz...I mean noone gave that team a chance.I heard people say that Bron should take that team to at least the 8 seed in a weaker Eastern conference, and he didn't.Just my opinion though.
Like I said before. This is just a useless stab at Lebron James. Both had phenomenal rookie seasons, lets move on.

Chris Paul is my choice also.
damn, i'll let you two argue over whatever your arguing over but my choice is also Chris Paul. Melo did better than LeBron...i'd pick Melo over Paul but he didnt win it. anyways, besides Ray Felton doing his thing in Charlotte, Paul basically had this wrapped up before the AS break.
you gotta be kidding me!Chris Paul did and i am a cavaliers fan. he nearly got his team into the playoffs in the western conference with little help. lebron had good players around him and wasn't able to.right now:lebron> cp3
