Hey everyone- some of you may have noticed a couple of posts I've put up that are a bit "wordy" to say the least. There's good news, well good if you're interested in what I have to say, now there's a podcast available going over those wordy posts!

Episode 1- Mason Plumlee can be found here: http://www.ripcityradio.com/onair/rip-city-mornings-56071/beyond-blazers-podcast-ep01-14272394/

Going forward, I'll have a weekly post that will come out, and a few days later a podcast with the guys from RipCity Radio- Bunker & Danforth - covering that post as well as a myriad of other things related to the Blazers.

For those unaware- I'm a stats geek. I love numbers. I try to take what my eyes and ears tell me and then take a look at the numbers to see where the correlation, does or doesn't exist and then I try to make my points from there. Beyond wanting this venture to be successful, I really look to you all for feedback. This can be focused on the content, how I've presented it, my style, whatever. I'm really looking to involve the Blazers community because you're all the ones that care the most- that have the largest vested interest.

I truly hope you enjoy it and I look forward to doing this for a long time!
    Thanks,

    Dan

Those two tools know nothing about basketball. Post away, but they bring no knowledge of hoops to the podcast world.

I have to say I'm disappointed in this rookie hazing. You're losing your edge. You should be all over this guy like Rice on popcorn.

If you seriously are going to post an article once a week, I'd be happy to create a RipCityRadio subforum for your content exclusively.

I think fewer people will view his posts if they are in a subforum. I would like them here in the main forum.

    YAY!

    BOO!

This guy just wants to hawk his product on this forum. When I hawked my product, I did it on a subforum like a goddamned gentleman.

All you had to do was include one song about the Blazers and you could have "hawked your product" on the main forum.

Great note about Wes' and AC's third seasons. The numbers are very similar, and Crabbe might be the better offensive player.

    Wes (age 25): 33.8 mpg, 41% FG, 38% from 3 on 5 attempts, 13.7 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.7 apg, 110 ORTG, 14.1 PER
    AC (age 23): 26.0 mpg, 47% FG, 37% from 3 on 4 attempts, 11.2 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 1.1 apg, 111 ORTG, 13.0 PER

Can he be our full time SF?

The defense we saw from him last night has been downright Wes-like. And he's gonna get PAID this summer. 12+ mil can be a guarantee if he keeps this production up.

    Crabbe isn't 25, he's 23.

I saw that and was like WOW, Crabbe is old. Then I looked it up, knew it was fishy!

Crabbe is totally a keeper though.

Yeah, this is why I'm planning on doing a piece on Crabbe. There's a lot there to take a look at. I remember earlier this year, when Crabbe started to show his improvements I wondered, how does his development stack up to Matthews and it was down right spooky. They came at it from different angles- offense --> defense in Crabbe's case and defense --> offense in Wesley's case.

Considering Aminu's contract- I almost wonder if the Blazers FO saw this coming and locked up a cheaper option, who may not be as dynamic as Crabbe offensively but tends to show up a bit more often defensively. I'll go into that a bit more when I dive down that rabbit hole- in the meantime if you have any questions along those lines, don't hesitate to ask!

He should be our starting 3 depending on the matchup, say we play Golden State he should start, Aminu to the 4. He is playing a lot like a young Francisco Garcia.

I don't think POR would develop this guy and just let him go because he costs too much to keep. That's a problem we WANT to have (developing young players to the point where they will get a lot of $), especially given how far below the salary floor we are.

For Crabbe, it's really interesting that he went two seasons without scoring double digits EVER (literally). Now he's AVERAGING double digits in his third year. Obviously he's playing more minutes, but it's not like Crabbe wasn't a part of the rotation for a long time last year. He went almost 70 games without scoring double digits in a single game!

More bball ref fun: Crabbe is 16th in the league in 2pt FG% at 53.5%. Crazy for a guy who shoots mostly jumpshots. Majority of his attempts in 2pt land come from 16' and out.

    Also 16th in eFG%

    Dude's a keeper.
