New Deal

Mauro Camoranesi has extended his deal with Juventus until 2011, the club have announced.

The midfielder is delighted with the deal which was wrapped up this evening.

Camoranesi met with the club's president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli, chief executive Jean Claude Blanc and sporting director Alessio Secco after the afternoon training session.

The Italian international was outstanding during the game against Zenit St Petersburg before he came off with a minor knock.

The club have shown their eagerness to keep him at the Olimpico and they have offered him a new deal which will see the player stay on at Vinovo until 2011.

Blanc and Secco were happy with the way things turned out.

"We value the report this player has with Juventus, he is very determined for this club and he has continued to show his qualities in Europe and in Serie A, and we are delighted that he will be wearing the shirt for another season," Blanc told the club's official website.

Camoranesi was also deighted and he has spoken of his joy at having made this decision.

"It's an important day, I came to Turin in 2002 and I am honoured to be able to wear the shirt for nine seasons.

"It's not easy playing at the highest levels for so long but I am convinced that we will achieve great satisfactions together."

The Italian international came close to leaving the club in 2006 after the Calciopoli scandal but the Old Lady convinced him to stay.

I love the intensity and passion he brings to the pitch every time he plays. It's hard not to appreciate a guy like Camoranesi.
