<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">OAKLAND ? Out the last five games with a sprained right ankle, including Friday's game against the Knicks, Warriors backup forward Andris Biedrins might return tonight in Phoenix.
"We'll see how it looks and see if I can play," said Biedrins, who tested the ankle before Friday's game but felt it was still weak whenever he made quick cuts. "It's getting better every day."

Biedrins, a 6-11 forward, played four minutes in the season opener, then rolled the ankle the next day in practice. The product of the Latvia Basketball League missed 35 games due to injury last year, but he's maintaining patience at the string of injuries in his young career.

"I want to be 100 percent sure," Biedrins said. "If I can't get to 100 percent, there's no point in trying to play. The season is long. There's along way to go still."

Ike Diogu, the Warriors' first-round pick, had his fractured

left hand re-examined Thursday, which indicated he's making progress. Diogu did a few drills before the game.
Without Biedrins and Diogu, the Warriors lack depth in the post. Coach Mike Montgomery is trying to get center Adonal Foyle some help in the post, so Foyle doesn't get in foul trouble. </div>

I hope these two get back ASAP as we desperately need a low-post presence and they happen to be the only two who can provide it.

Diogu WILL produce. The question is how much and how soon.Andy B,who I never saw play Forward, will get minutes as will Taft. Both have made progress, have played well enough to be assets. It's already clear that the bench will get used plenty and those who play well play more.

When it comes to the reserves, Monty seems to have been favoring whoever has the hot hand. He doesn't have much choice when it comes to his big men so I do expect Diogu to log significant minutes when he gets back if he can find his rythym, maybe 15 minutes to start and increasing to 25.
