Roy, Aldridge, Oden. The big 3 were to leave us in a window of championship opportunity for 10 or 12 years. Three great players growing and playing together on the court for us. Throw in a supporting cast and it was to be perpetual Blazer mania. It was a near frenzy before it even started. However... Roy’s knees betrayed him and after multiple surgeries left him bone on bone without the ability to barely run or jump and the total loss of his explosiveness. Oden, with multiple surgeries and no reason to believe he will ever play significant minutes in the NBA has been a heart breaker. A #1 pick with a propensity for injury. Aldridge has had some minor heart procedures and now we hear of another one. I have no evidence to bring, but how much longer can this go on? He’s a very big man with some sort of heart ailment. It’s both sad and ironic that possibly all the big 3 we drafted to bring us to the NBA promised land may soon be the big 0. How fortunes and expectations change in the NBA.
It was mentioned last night. I didn't see it in the newspaper, but supposedly he's going to see his specialist. No one seemed too concerned.
Well if it's a routine checkup then this is complete non-news. It's completely normal for somebody to go back to the doctor a month or two after a procedure to make sure everything worked out the way it should. Can you be a little more specific about what was said? I watched the game last night with the sound turned off.
Either Barrett or Rice said that he was going back to his doctor about his heart and the other wondered aloud if he would miss a game. Nothing else was said.'
Kinda sounds like Ideal speculation. LA mentioned having routine check ups once a month after he had the procedure when training camp started. I'm gonna assume that its tell something else is said because if something happens to LA I might have to quit watching basketball for the rest of the year.
