After starting off conference play at 0-3, they have won 4 straight (vs Louisville, vs USF, @ Providence, vs Cincy). Two tough road games this week (@ Rutgers 1/30, @ Gtown 2/2) will test how hot they actually are. Senior wing Brian Laing leads the team, while freshman Jeremy Hazell has come up huge with back to back 20 point games against USF and UL.

Although 2-6 in conference play, one of the teams expected to miss the conference tourney, RU has won back to back games against top 25 opponents with an 80-68 win against Villanova (1/23) and a huge 77-64 road win @ Pitt (1-26). Overshadowed by their football team and women's basketball team, no Big East team should overlook them. Freshman guards Mike Coubourn and Corey Chandler are two players to watch for in the future.

Three straight wins for the Huskies against then #13 Marquette (1/20), @ Cincy (1/23) and @ then #8 Indiana (1/26) sees the Huskies playing as good basketball as any other team in the Big East right now. With gigantic Sophomore Center Hasheem Thabeet finally progressing and solid team play from a number of positions, UConn could make a run at the Big East crown if they get hot at the right time.
