Aside from my own Duck selfishness and desire to win a national championship.

    1) The NFL scouts will look at our offensive system at Oregon, crunch data and wonder if a first round franchise QB tag should be used on a kid that hasn't been effective against a defense he'll see every Sunday at the next level!! This is a big one!!

    2) Sprained/ torn or whatever Meniscus is not what you want to go into the combine with and allow your stalk to drop for fear of future injury.

    3) If Marcus comes back, beats Stanford next year and an SEC team in the playoff structure and allows his knee to heal in the offseason, 1 and 2 points above become mute!

    4) The Heisman will be his in my opinion, Manziel, Teddy, and all key paint layers from Stanford's D are gone.

    5) He can cement the greatest Duck QB of all time while only being a junior, and graduate too.

I think if he leaves after this year, he's a 10-15 pick in the NFL and he'll be backing someone else up.

    I think he's gone.

If he is considered a top 10 pick I'm not sure if he comes back. To much risk, mariota is good but he isn't Andrew Luck who could stay and knew he would be the #1 pick next year regardless.
