There's a rumor going around the Rams will send this year's #1 pick AND next year's 1st rounder) for Big Ben. I'll look for some sources online. If St. Louis does this deal, they must have the DUMBEST management ever. The Steelers should take this deal in a second. I certainly hope this is false.
If they don't, they'd be just as stupid asthe Rams organization. As a Browns fan who wants Bradford, I really hope this is all just a rumor with no legs.
He knows how to win games, though. I hate Big Ben, as I think statistically he is one of the most overrated QB's in the league. However, who gives a fuck? The dude has won 2 SB's already.
He's going to be suspended a few games, maybe again in the future as well? I could see why the Steelers are exploring their options.
Heh, if they'd figured out they could trade Big Ben a few weeks ago for two #1s, they could have scooped up McNabb to replace him for a #2 and #3.
Cool, let's trade a 2 time Superbowl winning QB for a QB who had 2, yes 2, shoulder injuries in six weeks during a college season. Seriously guys... seriously. Considering the best players on this team are going into their prime, I'm sure a decision to trade Ben will go through awesome with them. Also, the offensive coordinator that I'm not a fan of, is here because of Ben, which I am fine with. Letting Ben go pretty much is the end of the coordinator, which means we set ourselves back a couple years putting in a new offense because of a new coordinator. While at the same time, Running backs don't have many years to be productive, so let's throw Mendenhall another playbook to learn. This rumor was shot down quick because of it's idiocy and that's why I didn't post it.
Different rules if they are worried about him as a person. No one said they were going to replace his production immediately. They obviously did care about Santonio's character.
yeah, this isn't as farfetched as some may think. At the same time, next year's 1st rounder could really get you quality players in a trade.
Santonio had also said he didn't want to be inn Pittsburgh and was a free agent at the end of the year.
That doesn't mean they had to accept a 5th round pick, which is probably garbage. They wanted to clean their hands of his 4 game suspension, which combined with Ben's problems was a PR nightmare.
