Sam Allardyce does football no favours sometimes, set aside anything todo with his abilities as a manager. My 10 year old son sat watching the Arsenal game on BBC last night, counting the number of times he saw Sam on screen utter the F-word. One did not have to have any skill at lip-reading to make it out ... He lost count at 25 ... and that was only the times he did it when the BBC cameras were on him. Call me a prude, but what sort of example is he setting to kids, when he is seen spitting obscenities, apopleptic with rage, his face contorted with aggression? My son asked if he was going to fight Wenger if they lost. It is tough enough bringing up kids to have respect for others, without seeing this example of how a high profile sporting figure behaves. My son wants to go to a match - I won't take him.
You are a prude Teach your son the difference between right and wrong, have family dinners and all will be well. And take him to a football match. Show him the morons and how not to behave.
You lad probably knows a lot worse than the F word! Just make sure he doesn't think it's acceptable to use in most company and he'll be fine.
Don't blame Sam. As far as I'm concerned he can swear as much as he likes from the touchline, nothing wrong with a bit of passion. Instead you should be blaming the BBC for sticking the cameras on him and broadcasting it.
Sam can get angry but you dont blame him. Thats the type of style Big Sam is. He is the complete opposite of Steve Coppel. And last night he expressed his rage a bit OTT. We all swear but it was the BBC's fault for having the camera on him ALL the time.
