Pekka Rinne’s ability to drop to his knees to make saves at Monday’s informal skate at Centennial Sportsplex was important in his recovery from a May 9 hip arthroscopy surgery. Rinne had done this in drills before but not with Shea Weber blasting 105 mph howitzers at him and the rest of his teammates taking shots in live competition. It’s still unclear as to when Rinne will be ready for game action. The Predators start the preseason on Sept. 16 against the Florida Panthers in a double-header. One of these games is an unlikely scenario for him but we can assume Nashville and Rinne would like him to play in at least one of the team’s seven preseason games before its season opener on Oct. 3 against St. Louis. - See more at: http://blogs.tennessean.com/predators/2013/09/09/big-step-for-rinne-in-recovery/
