"It crushed me. It straight crushed me. I keep hearing they say I had a bad work ethic and missed practices. But if that's true, how can I do the things I do on the court? It just doesn't come naturally. You have to work at it. That really hurt me. "It drives me. I've been working out like crazy, and people are going to see the T-Mac of a couple years ago, who averaged 32, next season. That guy's coming out. I've never been so hungry and motivated." Full Story If he wasn't hungry and motivated the last couple seasons it's going to be scary this season!!
That's great news for us Rockets fans. I really hope he keeps his promise on his work ethics, but also remember that he's not the only man now in the team. He also has Yao now.
Yeah, I'd never heard any negativity regarding T-Mac's work eithic. He has his own personal trainer and all, and finally he's with a team dedicated to winning and with a solid foundation. I cant wait to see how he fits in with this squad.
Beutiful find DirtySouth I read the whole article. Tracy McGrady MVP 2005? Prove the Critics wrong T-Mac Prove the Critics Wrong. God Bless you boy do your thing. I cant wait to see T-Mac next year.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting brief:</div><div class="quote_post">It would be great if Rockets can have Kyle Korver.</div> Why? We don't need any spot-up shooters, since we already have Piatkowski. Also, Korver plays virtually no defense, so I doubt he would find any minutes to be effective under Van Gundy.
how much should the Rockets offer D Fish. I think they should give him half of the MLE. A starting salary of 2.5 million dollars. 4 years 12 million dollars. The Rockets can then use the 3.5 million to make an offer to a guy like Etan Thomas. He is a tough nosed backup center.
If T-Mac does what he said he's gonna do i see a bright next few years for the rockets, and hopefully he stays with the rockets. And i think we need to sign Derek Fisher because he can make his shots and has playoff experience. I'll be planning on going to a game for the rockets to see T-Mac play.
I'm anxious to see how the Rockets will do this upcoming season. I've never been so anxious to see how a team will fair for a season in such a long time. Watching Steve struggle under Van Gundy's coaching sucked. But Steve did play very well in the playoffs but I think he will do well in Orlando as well. But yeah, I think T-Mac will do very well and be a team player. Have no idea on what kinda numbers he will produce but since he has somebody else to go to and score. He should have alot more energy on the defensive end and it should be all g for the Rockets. BTW, is Mark Jackson and Charles Oakley still with the Rockets?
Lmao I remember the last time I came here many people were bashing tmac saying he would hurt the team. Now I see all these people happy to have tmac. Anyway, I think Tmac will do great things in Houston.
I cant read the story...you have to sign up? Oh well, I been backing up T-Mac all the way since he first traded to orlando. Rockets gonna win a championship in the coming years, no doubt.
Oakley isn't on the team anymore and I THINK Mark Jackson is an FA this year. I hope he's not resigned.. I hated him. He's a slow dinousaur. I was one of the people that's skeptical about Tmac coming to the Rockets but the terms back then were different. The original talks before this is the Rockets send Francis, Mobley and Mo Taylor to the Magic for Tmac and some wash players like Lue or something. That would not have been a good trade for the Rockets at all. But now that we're actually getting more than just Tmac and dumping the no-offense decent-defense Cato, it's a good trade for us.
Lets not get to excited fellas...see if he is really motivated first...I dont see how he will fit in in Van Gundy's offense...he likes the big men (Yao) and Tmac is going to want to be the number one option...i think this iwll end up being like the Francis situation in a couple of years..I also dont see any championships coming the Rockets way...no past the likes of the Timberwolves, Spurs, and Pacers.
There's a huge different between the Francis situation and Mcgrady, SF is the guy that ran the Houston offense and refused to get the ball inside. It's alot different when you are the two guard like Mcgrady is. After all that losing in Orlando, I doubt Mcgrady will care much about being the 1st option. T-mac knows how much freedom Kobe had because of Shaq, he wants to be in that same position with Yao. I see no reason why Houston won't be competing for championships for many years to come. Not sure why you mentioned the Pacers in terms of championships either.
Personally, I wouldn't say the Rockets would be ready to compete for a championship right off the bat. Sure, they will have a dynamic duo in McGrady and Yao, but there are still many gaping holes left to fill on the roster. The Rockets have basically nobody to back up Yao. Last year, Cato was able to slide over when Yao rested and Taylor came in. I'm certain that Howard cannot play center for even one minute and Weatherspoon is too undersized to play back-up center each game. Even through free agency, I doubt we would land anyone capable of giving quality minutes, since Keon Clark, Antonio McDyess and Charles Oaklley are all full-time power forwards. Also, even though we have two above-average point guards in Lue and Gaines, I do not think that this duo would split 48 minutes among them evenly. Both players do not fit the Van Gundy mold, which is to play hard defense. Lue is undersized, and I doubt that Gaines, at 6-6, would be quick enough against guards like Baron Davis and Tony Parker, both of whom would be in our division next year. I do feel that the Rockets would be good enough to compete for a championship in the future, but unless these holes are filled within reasonable time, we will not be ready, yet.
I think if we can land Brent Barry, or Derek Fisher, we'll be ok...but on the side..as mention, we need to get a C(Back-up), i dont see why Charles Oakley will care about being a back-up since he's at an old age, and he was with the rockets for his short length contract.. He would give yao about 10-15 of breathers.. T-mac will be probally the leader of the team...Since he is a veteran.. I think in the next 1-3 years, Yao and T-mac (If we sign him, hopefully we will for a long term contract) will become the NBA'S powerhouse, and win us BACK-TO-BACK-TO-BACK. People say this trade was bad right? Well, as Trip said, we got some speed from lue and gaines for baron davis and tony parker which will be needed much agaisnt the Spurs if you ask me. Rockets Need to get Oakley,Barry, or Fisher for this year to be a good play-off run.
Are the Rockets going to trade Maurice Taylor, Clearence Wetherspoon and Juwan Howard , all three are paid over 6 million and play the 4. WHo do u think the Rockets can get for those guys .
I would keep Howard, but trade the other too, they have nothing.. to me I think we could get a nice little rookie from some team or a better VET.
oh yeah i forgot about Van gundy. I mean we all know what t-mac can do with freedom on a team i think it will be interesting to see how T works with Van gundy on his neck. I wonder will he give t the freedom Francis wanted or will he try to change him as he did francis. i tink that will be another interesting scenario to watch with the rockets orginization. I really believe the rockets success revolves around Tracy, Yao, and Van gundy's relationship. how does everyone think T will do under Van Gundy's coaching style.
