San Antonio up by 12 with 35 seconds. T-mac hits 4 three-pointers including one three-pointer which was an and one. T-mac had 13 points in 35 seconds. Rockets actually won the game 81-80 when t-mac hit his last three with about 1 second to go.I saw this game. it was just unbelievable.
Rockets taking it all as the 6th seed. Rockets being down 3-1 against Phoenix Suns and then coming all the way up to sweep Shaq and Hardaway!
I don't know if this is the biggest upset in NBA history, but in 2004 when the Lakers were facing the Pistons in the Finals, everyone expected the Lakers to win this easily and take it in 5 or sweep them. Well the Pistons ended up winning it, and won it in 5 (I believe). That's definitely one of the biggest upsets in recent NBA history considering the stage and expectations for the teams in the event.

But yeea it was a pretty big upset. The Lakers had a killer team, Karl Malone/ Gary payton/ Shaq/ Kobe/ Derek Fisher. It has to be one of the biggest upsets in NBA.
^ It was 5. LA lost the first one at home, pulled out a close victory in game 2 also at home, and then lost 3 straight games to lose the series.
^^ I never considered that an upset because that Lakers team was more media hype then anything. Honestly, the only two players that actually did decent that entire series were Kobe and Shaq. The Lakers basically had 2 people playing the entire series. Karl Malone was hobbled and barely played good, Payton was HORRIBLE that series as he would brick a lot of shots and simply could not keep up with Billups. Shaq was excellent during that series but admittedly, Kobe did not get him the ball when needed and had a tendency to be somewhat selfish during that series. But however, I did watch that series and a lot of it was Payton's fault as well. He would kill the clock and half the times he would pass to Kobe with the shot clock runnign out and Kobe would have to force it or he would ignore Shaq. I think Kobe got OVER-blamed for that loss. It should actually have been the Lakers cast that was bombblasted cause no one showed up. And finally, to this day, I still refuse to believe that the Pistons had less talent then the Lakers and also that the Pistons are just "5 hard working guys". Are you kidding me?? That team has FOUR ALLSTARS (I would think they were all-stars even before they were actually all-stars) and a Bruce Bowen like praying mantis in Tayshaun. Speaking relatively, the only area that the Lakers had an advantage over the Pistons in terms of matchups was the Kobe and Shaq factor. As for the biggest upset, either Denver over Seattle or (in my era) I would say New York beating Miami in the first round with Allan Houston's game winner (anyone remember him?).
either reggie millers 8 in 9 (or something like that) or that year the knicks made it to the finals and lost to the spurs i think
Biggest upset? The 1991 Lakers getting man handled by Jordan and the Bulls to start the Bull Dynasty. The Lakers won game 1 only to be destroyed the rest of the way. Okay, maybe that wasn't the biggest upset but it was the end of Magic and Showtime. I was really sad.
Lakers over Blazers 2000 NBA western Conference and the beginning of a dynasty... what could have been...
I say T-Mac's 13 in 30 seconds aswell, San Antonio had the game won, it was over, no way to come back, then 30 seconds later, Rockets won.
