He's the best two-way player in the league. He's been scoring 33 a game and shooting 56 percent from the field for the past two months. He's the one star in the league who can completely turn a game around in about 90 seconds. He got over an early season funk of taking bad shots and makes the right decisions nearly all the time. He's probably the toughest two-guard since the late-'90s MJ. He's the most efficient superstar since the early-'90s MJ. He's been on a mission since he didn't win the MVP at the All-Star Game. And he has a knack for raising his game when it matters. Here's the point: Miami is 22-6 over its past 28 games, mainly because of Dwyane Wade. I see them continuing to get better and better. Why? Because he keeps getting better and better. After MJ retired, did you ever think you would see another guard average 30-35 points a night, rack up another six rebounds and six assists per game, play world-class defense and shoot 55 percent from the field? Well, it's happening. -- Bill SimmonsEverything i bolded made me laugh. I don't think he's being serious. Miami's opponents latley have been jokes, what makes it worse it that they didn't beat them convincly [except for utah].There are other stars with the flick of a switch which can change games better than him. Dwayne wade does not play world call defense, neither does any superstar swingman in the league. I don't know what he's saying.edit: Wade shouldn't be in the top 2 for mvp. Dirk nowitzki is doing more with a less talented team. Nash is doing the same with a crappier team. Elton brands is getting the clips to the playoffs.

Wade has been playing great, but he is not the MVP, nor does he deserve to win the MVP. This kind of talk doesn't shock me anymore, because most of the media, especially this guy Bill Simmons, always jumps on the bandwagon and always starts making cases for any guy to win the MVP if they start playing well at some point.

The point of this article is not only to make a case for Wade being an mvp, but more so to not to forget him in the race.

He's not avergaing 30-35 points a night. He's a great player, but can we end tge MJ comparisons with everyone now? If anything, Kobe Bryant is the closest to Jordan.

I read that, but his average is what, high 27s? A lot of players step it up after the All-Star break, but that's not averaging it for the full 82 game season.

Let's see him do it for 82 games. Also, Pierce is averaging 27/7/5 on 48% shooting, with considerably less help.

Not to mention Wade is doing this without shooting any 3's.

So what? Wilt averaged 50.4 PPG with no 3's also. Yes he is a moron, I guess that's the purpose of this thread.

And Wilt did it against inferior opponents and teams. I cant see why you are knocking on Wade badly, I mean hes doing this undersized at the 2 guard spot.

We're not knocking him, I'm just saying that his statistics and achievements were exaggerated.I was just using Wilt as an example because of how high his average was that year, plenty of other big men have scored more without the 3 point arc. Jordan averaged 28.2 I believe his rookie season, and he couldn't shoot the 3 point shot.

When you work for easier shots and get to the line the difference of the extra point in the a three pointer is eliminated.

Wade has been doing great lately, but they seriously need to stop the comparisons to MJ. Even Kobe who is the "closest" is far from Jordan. He left the game and was probably the best ever, people seriously need to let that go.

I agree, everyone from Grant Hill to Dwyane Wade has been compared to Jordan, there's no comparison so it's time for us to drop it. The media loves to use the comparison because of the publicity and attention that Michael brouhg to the league, but it's very doubtful that we will see another like him. His combination of love for the game, will to win, knowledge of how to play the game, athletic ability, and natural instinct will probably never be seen again.
