Bills and sense: Don't buy T.O. deal as good idea

Terrell Owens and the Buffalo Bills are the ideal fit: Owens is as bad for the Bills as the Bills are for Owens.

Owens is disruptive, self-absorbed and egomaniacal -- just the sort of guy who will sabotage Dick Jauron's locker room and Trent Edwards' huddle. I can't imagine Jauron was on board with this move. He is a close friend of Steve Mariucci, for crying out loud, and Mariucci was relieved to get away from T.O. But what about Edwards? The poor guy inherits an outspoken prima donna who torched Jeff Garcia, Donovan McNabb and Tony Romo. Just how long until he uses Edwards as his doormat?

But that's where the Bills come in. They don't throw the ball; they run it. And they especially run it when the weather starts turning sour -- which, in Buffalo, is any time in October. Plus, Edwards is young, inexperienced, and not prone to throwing the ball downfield. So how exactly does a 35-year-old wide receiver -- with hands that can't match his ego -- fit into that offense? Answer: He doesn't.

Trust me, Owens will regret this move as much as the Bills -- which, come to think of it, is a fitting conclusion for his combustible career.
