<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Bills sign punter Moorman to three-year extensionAssociated Press BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Pro Bowl punter Brian Moorman plans to finish his career with the Buffalo Bills after signing a three-year contract extension on Monday. The contract locks Moorman in through 2012, and is worth $10 million, putting him among the league's best paid punters. As part of the deal, the Bills also restructured the remaining three years on his current contract."It means a lot to me to have them say, 'Hey, we want you to finish you career here,"' Moorman said. "I can't say enough about how excited I am."Moorman has become one of the NFL's top punters since breaking into the league with Buffalo as an undrafted free agent in 2001. He's earned Pro Bowl selections in each of the past two seasons and holds the Bills franchise record with a career 43.47 yards punting average. He finished second in the NFL last season with a 39.2 yards net average and set a Bills record by landing 33 punts inside the 20.They're impressive numbers considering Moorman spends half the season playing at Ralph Wilson Stadium, where swirling winds and wintery conditions make it one of the league's harshest environments."Yeah, it's definitely a difficult place to kick, and most people would say I'm crazy to say I want to stay in Buffalo my entire career," Moorman said, laughing. "When you get the chance to stick around for a number of more years and possibly finish your career in a place like Buffalo, where the fans are phenomenal and a place were I feel great in the community ... I wanted to make sure I could continue to do that."Moorman has also become a fan favorite in Buffalo, in part because of his work with local charitable organizations, including his own PUNT Foundation, which supports pediatric cancer research, treatment and social programs. In 2005, Moorman was awarded Pro Football Weekly's Arthur S. Arkush Humanitarian Award. On the field, he's a key member of what has become one of the NFL's best special teams units, which ranked third last year in production and first the previous two seasons.Moorman had difficulty believing how far he's come after nearly giving up on football before landing a job with the Bills. It helped, too, that the team stuck with Moorman after he struggled as a rookie -- the result of having a tired leg after spending the previous spring playing in NFL Europe."Words can't explain it. I do consider myself very lucky to be where I'm at today," Moorman said. "I look forward to keep getting better every year."Copyright 2007 by The Associated Press</div>http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2923451
