ORCHARD PARK, New York (Ticker) - The Buffalo Bills on Saturday signed cornerback Leodis McKelvin, the team's first-round pick this year. Terms were not disclosed. Although McKelvin intercepted just four passes in his four years at Troy State, he was one of the most accomplished kick returners in history (NCAA-record 3,817 total return yards). The 11th overall selection, McKelvin tied an NCAA mark by returning eight kicks - seven punts - for touchdowns. His 211 total returned kicks topped the previous collegiate record of 203 set by Deltha O'Neal. McKelvin has good quickness but needs to learn to secure the ball, having broken up 22 passes in his career.
