<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">When this season ends, Pistons guard Chauncey Billups has a player option worth $6.8 million for 2007-08. According to a close friend of Billups, the veteran point guard has interest in Milwaukee. And the interest might be mutual when the time is right. With the Bucks projected to be $14 million under the salary cap next season and in need of a point guard, Billups could be a good fit. In Detroit's season-opening loss to Milwaukee Wednesday night, Billups saw the Bucks' young talent firsthand. The same friend said Billups liked what he saw. Chicago signed Billups's former Detroit teammate Ben Wallace to a four-year deal worth $60 million during the offseason. And if you ask the Celtics, Billups was just as valuable to the Pistons as Wallace in recent years, if not more so. "In my eyes, Chauncey is probably the best one-time All-Star in the history of the game," said Paul Pierce, who believes the Pistons' floor general should have received the honor at least three times. "The way he controls the game, the way his tempo is, the way he gets these guys going, he's the unquestioned leader of that team. He's capable of getting it done on both ends."</div> Source Looks like the Pistons are gonna start falling apart.
awww.... why are the pistons falling apart? Just coz Ben Wallace isn't there anymore means that all of them shouldn't leave the team one by one
Billups needs to get paid. He's the most valuable player on the team, and if the Pistons don't give him the cash he wants (even though he'll be 31), he will find a situation where he can get paid. But after losing Ben, the Pistons can't afford to lose Billups. It'll be interesting to see how this season goes for them without Ben.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Milwaukee needs a PG? Have they forgotten about Mo Williams and triple double threat Charlie Bell?</div> Mo Williams is like a Mike James lite, and isn't exactly a solid starting point guard. In my opinion, he's more of player that would be best coming off the bench as a sparkplug. Problem with Charlie Bell though, is that is that he's somewhat inconsistent from game to game. You don't really know what to expect from him. Some nights he'll give you a nice statline with points, rebounds, and assists, while other nights, not so much.
In what galaxy do you knock back Chauncey Billups in favour of Charlie Bell and Mo Williams? The Bucks have the pieces to contend in the East in the next 2-3 years, and adding Billups into the mix instantly promotes them amongst the East's elite.
I'm not saying they should knock him back, I'm just saying, to say they need a PG is a bit ridiculous when they have 2 decent, capable point guards at the moment. Plus I dont want to see Chauncey leave us
Wow, Billups at the point with Redd, Charlie and Bogut, with Mo Williams in reserve... Guys, I'm salivating over here. Don't tell me these things until they actually happen! LOL!
Another "friend said" article, Vince Carter's friend also said he would be interesting in going back to Toronto.
