<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">While all the fanfare over Billy Donovan has created a buzz not heard in Orlando since the arrival of Shaquille O?Neal in 1992, the Magic?s most valuable acquisition is yet to come.

Even Donovan will tell you that.

"It?s not about me," he said. "I?m just a piece of the puzzle."

If hiring him winds up being the biggest transaction of the summer, it will mean the Magic failed to land a prized free agent or make a trade for the missing piece or pieces. And Billy?s NBA maiden voyage could hit rough water for a team that carries, perhaps, oversized expectations, firing Hill even after he led the Magic to their first playoff appearance since 2003.

The Magic will have $10 to $13 million in cap room before signing Milicic, a restricted free agent. To create more room if Milicic is re-signed, they will have to trade some contracts, perhaps moving forward Hedo Turkoglu?s $6 million salary off the books.

It?s a thin free-agent class, with point guard Chauncey Billups, guard Vince Carter and forward Rashard Lewis the most prominent names. The Magic are expected to make an offer to Lewis and/or Carter, as soon as free agency starts July 1.</div>

finally a plan to move hedo!!.. it keeps getting better and better. I hope we can do something in free agency.. at least to shake things up. Right now I'm off the vince carter wagon because of his horrible lackluster performance in the playoffs. I still believe billups is gonna stay in detriot, and rashard lewis is our best bet..but u never know with the magic. Would this be a good time to bring up fran vazquez?

    Fran who?

I agree that Vince Carter would be a horrible option right now. He wasn't attractive to be before his disgusting display in the playoffs so he's just repulsive. I do not want Carter on this team. Billups intrigues me because I'd like to get a real point guard next to Dwight. Jameer just doesn't cut it. You all know how I feel about Rashard as well. I would love to get him too. If we get either Billups or Lewis, this offseason will have been amazing in my opinion.
