The Birmingham Squadron, NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, secured win number two on the season after fighting back from a 16-point deficit to defeat the Greensboro Swarm in overtime. The Squadron are now 2-0 to start their inaugural season. The Squadron struggled shooting out of the gate, allowing Greensboro to take a lead early that lasted throughout most of the game. With under 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter, the Squadron trailed by 16, down 81-65 before battling back in the final 10 minutes to tie the game and send it to overtime. Birmingham held the Swarm scoreless in overtime, and guard Jared Harper hit a three with a minute in a half left to seal the victory. Birmingham got the win despite begin out-shot and out-rebounded, shooting a .384 clip from the field and .325 from the three while pulling down 39 rebounds to the Swarm's 47. However, the Squadron did take advantage of the Swarm on the defensive end, forcing 28 total turnovers that led to 32 points. Leading the way in the scoring column for Birmingham for the second game in a row was Harper. Harper finished with 27 points, shooting .438 from the field (7-of-16) and .556 from behind the arc (5-of-9). He added three rebounds, five assists and two steals in the contest. Five players scored in double digits for Birmingham including Harper (27), forward Malcolm Hill (19), guard Joe Young (14), guard John Petty Jr. (12) and forward Zylan Cheatham (11). For the Swarm, six players scored in double figures, led by center Vernon Carey Jr. who put up 15 points along with four rebounds and one assist.
