What is the count up to for games steve blake has choked in with a turnover? 4? 5? I'm fucking tired of it. I hate Steve Blake. He's slow, can't defend, can't create, handles suck. Only asset is his shot, and when that's not falling, man is he useless. Just sick of watching "blakey" throw the ball away at the end, get stripped, turnover, missed free throw, whatever. Why does he play in crunch time?
Sergio is worse. A lot worse. Sergio couldn't guard me and I'm 60 years old. I do agree Blake messed up on that last Outlaw steal though. I still think Blake might be a ok backup just not a starter.
Unfortunately, I don't trust any of our three PG's. Sergio is just a shooting and defensive liability, Bayless is always scared of being benched again, and Blake pulls these moves. He doesn't deserve that assists in a quarter record. But he is still better than Bayless and Sergio as of the moment.
That is the real cause. I don't know if everyone is sick, or just got a little cocky. But the game tonight (and a lot of games this season) shows why this team more than likely is 5 or 6 and out in the playoffs this year. It's not the end of the world that they lost, but I'm tired of these kinds of losses. You know, losses after an important win that show growth. This shows regression. So did the Indiana game after the Spurs win. They have to follow up big wins with more wins, to show growth and upward movement as a team. This showed a lateral move at best.
They're just not that good......yet. Anything above that, I count as a bonus. Otherwise, it is what it is. In other words, they're not playing below my expectations.
Yes it was a stupid play. But he was one of the few guys that played well tonight. Brandon had 3-4 stupid TO's . Not faulting Roy for losing us the game, just saying that it's fucking idiotic after every loss to blame someone and have so much hatred for........whoever fucked up.
To be honest, I think Rudy has more refined PG skills than Bayless, and he fits a lot better into the Roy-centric offense in the fourth as he can shoot.
I think the future point guard of this team isn't a member of the Blazers yet. Whom that is, I don't know, but although I think when Sergio is on his game, he's a starting-NBA-level player (it's just that he's hardly ever there due to whatever reason), the three point guards the Blazers have (Blake, Sergio, Bayless) don't fit the system. This team needs a Terry Porter.
If only we could combine all three of our point guards into one starting quality guard. And take out the anti-clutch of Blake in the process.
It amazes me how every thread turns into Sergio sucks rant.....geez! Where was Bayless tonight...oh yea on the bench! Our best combo in the future would be Roy handling the ball..Sergio backing up the point and Rudy starting with Roy..and Bayless backing up Rudy...it would be a good 4 guard rotation. Bye Bye Blakey!
Blake is TERRIBLE in transition. For being a PG, he sure has shitty handles and vision. Watching him run a fast break is like watching a nascar crash unfold.
All those three pointers in the first quarter from him didn't really do anything for us either. What a bum.
