We both suffer from a similar affliction (myself included) - the "What-have-you-done-for-me-lately" syndrome. When we lose we love to pick a reason or two why and then dump all the blame on that/those person(s). Somebody has a couple good games or provides several "Oooh" factor plays and they are suddenly players for which we often exhibit irrational exuberance (kinda like the housing bubble) whereas someone has a bad game or two and perhaps it is time to get rid of that player for bench them for someone else (quick, sell the stock before it tanks more!). Yup, guilty as charged; I hang my head in semi-shame (but it doesn't mean I'll necessarily change my behavior ). Gramps...
Maybe it's a bubble popping? Expectations are too high and when reality hits people are more depressed than they should be... Ed O.
But I didn't want my bubble popped! I liked the illusion under which I envisioned the future! Gramps...
