If someone would take him, for anything remotely reasonable, I think you make that deal.

I agree, but I don't think he will pass a physical anywhere.

I sure hope so. I also hope Cho has held internal discussions about every player on the roster in a similar manner.

How is this news? Such a vague sentence.

I wonder of Toronto or the Cavs would take a chance on him?

You would have to get a team that was willing to waive the physical because of Roy's talent. Ideally a team ready to compete for a title, stacked with youth at a possition, and that also needs a SG.

Well, just going off of teams I could see taking the risk(not saying I would move him), teams on the cusp, and willing to sacrifice, maybe San Antonio? Young talent in Splitter, Anderson, Hill. Orlando? Not sure I like enough of their young talent. Dallas? Beaubois and..... There's not too many teams I can see both on the cusp, willing to take the risk, and with any young talent. S.A., Dallas, and Orlando seem like the best bets. Dallas doesn't have the young talent, unless you just did Beaubois and picks, which blows. Unless they brought in a third team. S.A. could send Hill, Splitter, Anderson. Orlando? Gortat, Orton.

Roy being BYC makes all deals that much moer difficult.

Dallas is the obvious fit to me. It's the only team with:
    a) a hope of contending
    b) in need of some veteran calming influence
    c) could use an extra SG
    d) Mark Cuban's bank account (most importantly)

Maybe a deal where we get back Shawn Marion and filler could work. It'd add some depth to backup SF/PF, and clear out some of the contract. We'd be on the hook for Marion's 4 years, but at $7mil it's something you might be able to move.

    I doubt it happens, though.

    Jesus that's depressing.

No thanks to Marion. If we were to move Roy, for some reason, then I'd want Butler and his expiring contract. Don't want any other long term deals coming back.

Maybe you could make that work. I was shocked to look it up and see that Butler has a PER of 10 right now. Yuck. I haven't seen the Mavs much this year, so I don't know what his defense is like. But it doesn't seem like a big loss for Dallas to go that route.

Yeah, not that i actually want Butler the player. Just that if I were to actually consider moving Roy, I wouldn't want salary coming back.

Shawn Marion is not the deal we need to make.

What about something hypothetical like http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2dogmuz

Any deal with Dallas would have to be based on picks, Rodrigue Beaubois and crap.

If Roy really has been reduced to good role-player status, it salvages something going forward.

Hope it never gets to that...

How depressing is it to consider that Roy would probably be the perfect second fiddle to a high scoring Durant, thus saving his knees.
