Saw that earlier on ESPN. Seems like an odd, off hand mention. Still, with him eligible to sign an extension, it'd be nice to make a move like that before any sort of lockout or anything, instead of waiting and thinking or hoping. Still not sure why they'd deal him to us, and what they'd replace him with. I know their GM liked Batum before, and kept trying to get him included in the Carmelo deal, supposedly.
Nene would be a nice fit here, imho. Not sure what it means for Camby or Oden. More so Oden than Camby. If they can get him without losing Oden, it'd be a coup. Since it's unlikely they could get him without giving up a large contract in return, I'm not sure why I said that.
Camby and Batum for Nene. But not sure why they do that. Nene for batum doesn't make any sense for them, really, and replacing Nene with one year of Camby doesn't help either.
I would love to have Nene. Dude is a stud, especially on the defensive end. But....I dont think the Nuggets are trading him to a division rival if at all.
They LOVE Batum, so if it's Batum and Camby for Nene.... I don't know. It's something to think about for sure though.
I love Nene. Probably the only Nug I really like. Don't know how it would work though. Seriously, I doubt Nugs do anything for us directly.
You say this because an article speculated that Portland might be interested? Thats a bit of a leap you made.
How many times will Batum's name come up in trade senario's this summer on this board? I think almost every trade discussion on this board will involve Batum . . . and I think Blazers are open to very few trades involving Batum.
Very easy... Batum has the highest value per contract dollar. Basically, he is worth more than his contract is; therefor many teams would jump on him and even possibly take on a lessor valued contract in the deal. It has nothing to do with people having some sort of "dislike" for Batum. I love him! BUT... I think Wallace will be a natural starting 3 for the Blazers; which doesn't leave a lot of room for Batum. He's a starter and needs to be on a team as one.
Nene is 28, can defend both Big spots well & just posted a 20.4 PER. His contract is up after next season and with the state of their team it's understandable that they might want to cash in their mature chips for younger talent to compete down the road. While he'd be a wonderful fit beside Aldridge, I'm sure that interest in adding him would be very high around the league. Others have pointed out the obvious, why in the world would they trade him to a division rival for what the Blazers have to offer? STOMP
