Blazers need 15 or more swish3s per game to win, and need to optimize those shots by spread court, best shooters, and sweet spot play set ups. Winning teams usually have at least 15 swish3s per game, Swish3 attempts should be taken by the best shooters. The highest % swish3 shooters in order are Meyers, CJ, Shabazz, and Chief. The 4 of them should be relied on to score those 45 points and keep the per quarter scoring at or above 26 points. Instead of Mo, I would play--yes even start--Meyers in a game like the Pistons. Both quality of play and freshness favor playing the guy with the highest (61%) FG stat, and would provide a greater chance to win. With improvements in shooting and defense, I would be counting on Meyers for making 4 or 5 additional swish3s that the Blazers need to have a chance to win games like the Celts and Pistons. I would get the minutes from Mo, Jusuf (to keep him fresh), and Zach. Meyers also spreads the court better, and provides the best screens to free up CJ and Dame. By strengthening the swish3 strategy, the Blazers have a better chance more wins.
So this is basically yet another thread to make it all about Meyers Leonard? Is this actually you, Meyers?
No he doesn't. According to the OP giving more time to Meyers Leonard is the solution to all our problems.
The problem is Meyers won't take swish3's. He gets open, catches the ball, and then hesitates until the defender gets too close to shoot. He needs to watch Collins more in that area. I really don't get where Meyer's head is at. He has all the talents he needs. He gets open. Just shoot the @#$% ball.
Yes. Meyers needs for the coaching staff to assign the Blazers to make at least 15 swish3s, and for his role to be making 4 or more of them. This takes only 8 shot attempts statistically! Using the best shooters to score more points will increase the number of wins. Defensive intensity is always important to result in more swish3s made than the opponents. When the Blazers bring the best shooters, creative offense, and effective defense, more wins are likely.
