The Thunder are gonna be fired up, after losing a game they had in hand tonight. Our guys better be ready, especailly Lillard, if HCP's Westbrook Subway story was factual.

A win tonight would officially make me giddy. Still maintaining my modest expectations for the season, but you just can't ask for much more than starting off with wins vs. LA and OKC. Ok, maybe throw in a thrashing of Utah... That said, if we're expecting an up/down rebuilding season, this would be a classic "down" situation. Win or lose, I'm maintaining my requests to the basketball gods: let us see improvement every game, avoid any broken body parts, and may both teams play hard.
My expectations are still around steady team play improvement, and individual performances. I'd love to see our new players shine, as well as Nic and Wes. LMA still needs to play his way into full shape after the missed workout time due to his surgery, so looking for him to improve there will be good. And, if enough of our guys perform well as a team, we'll see a few ins. Tonight though, I think I'll be hoping for individual performances to be fun-to-watch.
All I really care about this season is seeing growth and some cohesiveness develop in the starting lineup ... tangential to that, Lillard and Leonard developing and tapping into some of the potential that got them drafted would be a nice salve for all of the losing that's probably going to happen.
This has beat down written all over it. OKC by 20. If the Blazers pull off a win here I might change my mind on this team but I just can't see that happening. The next couple of games after this though are very winnable.
