It's purposely vague, but our message board is nothing if not a hypothetical trade machine monster so I thought I'd put another cog on it.
I personally think it'd have to be after the draft lottery, when teams can solidify their plans around not getting Flagg next season.
Could be at the deadline. Ayton is a good starting center. His contract will be an expiring deal next year. If we see a playoff team starting center go out with an injury then Ayton could make a ton of sense. From the Blazers end you need at least a FRP back or else just keep him and see what may be available later, all the way up to his free agency with sign and trades.
I don't think I'd describe him as "good". He doesn't get to the FT line, loves the mid range jumper and is an average at best rim defender. He doesn't elevate a team, he just isn't bad.
Remember when the internet wasn't just a sea of bots reporting on each other's made up trade rumors? Or did I just dream that?
Ayton is our best player, but I ALWAYS trust the opinions of a racist 5th-grade skinhead. Brett Siegel (@BrettSiegelNBA) / X
...yet STILL our best player...and his dunderhead teammates will never catch up. He's the only Blazer who talks like a black man, so Jason Quick wants him gone.
