Blazers to Green, "Don't Bother Coming"

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">These are frustrating times for the Trail Blazers, who last week were forced to change direction in their coaching search when their top candidate, John Lucas, pulled out of consideration.

And on Monday, Houston high schooler Gerald Green -- one of the prospects on the Blazers' board for the third overall pick in the June 28 draft -- said he will work out with the Blazers only if he doesn't have to compete against other players.

The Blazers' response: Don't bother coming. </div>

I applaud them as well. How often do you see a team turn down a projected top five pick for a workout? Obviously Green doesn't have a great deal of confidence in his game. Hopefully he comes to his senses though and agrees to a group workout, because it's looking more and more like the Blazers will draft Paul and explore trades.
