HUGE game if you ask me. All this preseason love for the Soni.......... errrr........ Thunder I thought was unwarranted. This will be our chance on national TV (TNT) to show the league that even without Greg and Joel we can beat these guys!
Even if my TV blows up I can still watch it. I might not like the way it looks (unless it blows up in an interesting and artistic way, that is). Seems a little cold that you wish two bad things on me, FAMS. I? still love you like the little sister I never had. Actually, if it blows up the way this one does, I might actually like it. Big bang.
I'm really hoping Nic has a huge bounce-back night against these guys. He should be up for covering the most dangerous scorer in the league you would hope.
Nic has just been playing mind games with Durant. He wants to build up Durant's confidence against him so that when he shows up and plays hard, it should throw Durant off his game.
Seems to me like for whatever reason Batum has had a real problem in getting around screens. I don't really think that's as much an issue in guarding Durant. With him you just have to have a lot of length and the ability to anticipate his first step, which Batum does reasonably well. The Portland will be at home, and the Thunder will be on the second game of a back-to-back. Portland has got some time to really prepare, so it should be a good one. I really, really want to see our team kick the Thunders' teeth in on national TV.
I think I'm going to watch the Thunder play the Clippers tonight and cheer for the Clips. After the big game he put up against Portland, I'm already a huge fan of Blake Griffin. It kind of sucks to think his team is 0-4. Besides, if the Clipshow kills the Thunder, and we killed the Clippers, we'll have already transversely beaten the Thunder.
Oh god yes. I hated the Thunder because of the whole stealing the Sonics drama. But then again, I basically like the players and the style they play. It's the incessant slobbering media love they get that pushes me over the edge and makes me hate them, albeit one tier down from my hatred for the Flakers, Heat, and Celtics. We had a NW rivalry with the Sonics, but I always felt it was good natured (at least for me), kind of a sibling rivalry. I wanted the Sonics to do well, when not playing the Blazers. With the Thunder, I feel like it is a rivalry game, maybe a little because of the Oden v. Durant angle, but mostly I'm so sick of them being overhyped, and so sick of Durant being sent to the foul line every time someone sneezes, I want them to lose, all the time. Yeah, I want this one more than any game so far this season, even opening night.
I just looked it up, and Griffin is averaging 17/10 so far, with nearly 8 FTA's a game. Pretty scary numbers for a guy at the very beginning of his career. Man, how are the Clips going to screw this one up? They lost to 3 good opponents so far (POR, SA and DAL) and the Warriors on the road. But the differential is depressingly bad--all of them are double-digit losses. I guess Baron Davis is out, but I'm not sure that's even a bad thing right now. I think the Clips want to win this one as badly as we will tomorrow night.
You have to wonder how much it would mess with a player if every time he came down the court a different player was guarding him, and the order alway changed.
I'll be at the game . Anyone else going? I'm still trying to decide which blazer jersey i want to buy.
