Truly sad it has taken this long for America to wake up. The problem is, there are still groups of people who will never allow themselves to get educated, and grow on this issue, for the betterment of this country, and themselves. The country they say they stand up for. America will never truly be, America, until those groups driven by hate, truly follow the words they say they hold sacred.
In God's eyes we are ALL Brothers from another mother. So don't tell me you believe in God, if you have hate for Black People.
Beautiful and powerful video. Love that the team/players/organization did that. I think one of the biggest steps needs to be people admitting that the civil war was about slavery, and that admitting that doesn't mean you don't love the country or that you don't love your relatives who were raised in the south etc. I admit that Oregon (and by default, Washington too since they used to be part of Oregon) has a very racist history. It doesn't mean I hate the country, or am less of a Pac NW resident. Ignoring the facts doesn't help people grow and evolve. Accepting it will help people heal and grow as people.
Exactly! But those who hate have to find someway to look in the mirror and ask why? Why do i refuse to acknowledge evils done in the past. Why won't i accept getting educated on the issues to understand how not to hate. To allow yourself to move forward. It has to come from within those who have hate in their hearts. Many of those people say they stand by the flag, or "Under God". But actually, by their actions against Black People, they aren't following the meaning of those symbols at all. And they make a mockery of those symbols. Hate blinds.
