Regardless, he'll never suit up for this team. It doesn't matter if he leaves now or at the end of the season when we cut him for cap savings.

Matters if we can get an asset instead of cutting him

If he isn't traded we probably keep him this season. No reason to eat the $4 million cap hit next year if there is even a tiny chance he could be moved around the draft/free agency.

We actually have the trade exception and space under the tax to just absorb a salary right now; either give a team luxury tax relief or cap space in the summer.... odd that 4 days ago we were in the opposite position.

Makes sense to buyout Satoransky though, assuming he isn't moved.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Blazers attached some cash and one of the newly acquired 2nds to flip him for a true expiring contract. That way Cronin could clear that $5 million off of the books for next year.

He used to be a Blazer killer. I hated that guy.

seems like he'd be a good fit in Toronto and we could just trade him straight across for the fully expiring Dragic and get rid of that 3.9 mil guarantee. Tor could use a backup PG as FVV is logging a lot of minutes, win/win for both teams

Portland might get a 2nd out of the deal; but it might also be one of those top-55 protected 2nds

but there is also this possibility, however remote: at the draft, if Portland has 2 lottery picks, it's possible that could trade one of the picks + Bledsoe + filler for a valuable player.

This would presumably help the tank but then we couldn't use as a mostly expiring trade chip. Maybe they figure that doesn't make any difference since we have the big TPE? But what if we had two targets to match two potential lottery picks?
