So I am one of the people who don't think the sky is falling and I also don't think we should trade this team for peanuts because they had one bad game.

However, Odens injury is pretty much a downer on what to me was suppose to be an EPIC first game. But if you really think about it a few things happened that occurred to me after some solemn crying in the shower this morning.

    1. That brutal beginning stretch of the season, is no longer a big weight on Oden's shoulders. He doesn't have to worry about facing Duncan, Amare, Yao, Okur as an introduction to the league. He can come in when we play the Kings again so he can smash on Spencer Hawes to build up some confidence.

    2. It tempers expectations. This is one of the few things that I actually agree with Hamzano on. It knocks everything down a few pegs. Under promise and over deliver. Lately everyone has been expecting Oden to turn dirty gym socks into silk. This hopefully allows him to ride under the radar for a while, hopefully.

    3. I personally think this gets some of the media off his back, some. The same media that, before he played that first game, claimed he was the next Bill Russell and then after the game said "see! I told you he isn't that good." Hopefully they can go and talk about something else for a time being. Although, on the flip side, any media attention will probably viewed in a skeptical view. As opposed to riding his jock they will be making Kevin Durant and Sam Bowie references under their breath.

    Just some thoughts.

There is no blessing about *another* Greg injury.

Going up against the elite can only help Greg. That's valuable experience he's going to miss out on.

    I love that album.

    Metal Church rocks.

And there may be a bit of a silver lining, but there's definitely a cloud. A very large, very dark cloud.
