Blocked FG on final play drops Extreme to 7-2

    A blocked field goal at the end of the first half sent the Bloomington Extreme streaking into its locker room at the intermission.

    However, it was another blocked kick that doomed the Extreme.

    Wichita’s Jordan Xavier blocked Peter Christofilakos’ 23-yard field goal attempt on the game’s final play as the one-win Wild hung on to upset the Extreme, 20-18, in an Indoor Football League game before a disappointed U.S. Cellular Coliseum crowd of 3,888.

    “In this league you have to give credit where credit is due,” said Extreme wide receiver James Walton, whose 36-yard reception set up the final kick. “We have a lot of respect for Wichita. It came down to the last play, and they made the last play.”
