The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are excited to announce the signing of quarterback Alex Brink.

Brink (6-2, 208, Washington State, DOB: June 2, 1985 in Eugene, Oregon) was drafted in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans. Brink spent parts of the 2008 and 2009 season with the Texans before being released in September.

Alex had an excellent career at Washington State, concluding his time there as one of Washington State's all-time greats. Starting his last 40 games dating back to his freshman year, Brink left the school holding career records in passing yards, touchdowns, attempts, completions and total offence. In his senior year he threw for 3,818 yards, the second highest single-season total in school's history. Brink finished his career there as the third leading passer (yardage) in Pac-10 history, behind Carson Palmer and Derek Anderson and fifth in touchdowns. Overall, he finished with a competition rate 58.4, throwing for 10,913 yards and 75 touchdowns.

"We are excited to add Alex Brink to our roster. He's a guy that has had a lot of success at the NCAA level and drew interest from the NFL. We think he can come in and compete for a roster spot and look forward to watching him in training camp in June," said Vice President of Football Operations and General Manager Joe Mack.
