So in 7 wounderful games of ineptness the blue jackets fire their head coach(rightfully so) and hire the torterella crazy train. Love it, should be an interesting rest of the year whether it works out or not.

Dubi is probably psyched about this, he was a Torts guy.

They actually have a roster that could fit his system. Dubi, Jenner, Foligno, etc. could all thrive there. They're built more like the 11-12 Rangers than the 12-13 Rangers, which was not a fit at all. Not sure about how Johansen will fare though.

Looks like they wanted to get the coach fired. This roster should not be 0 and 7.

Columbus just got a lot more interesting with Torts behind the bench. The ship was sinking at 0-7 so the move had to be made and Torts makes sense. Starting 0-7 is not only on the coach but on the players being dogs, so Torts is the correct guy to come in and set them straight. I believe Torts works well short term and after a couple of season it starts to wear thin, so i'd expect Columbus to play strong the rest of the year.

Agree w 31 - Torts is a good hire for them.....In the SHORT term. He grinds too much and is the Harbaugh of the NHL, will wear out his welcome eventually but he gets a lot out of players, especially for the first 2 years
