Rangers win 5-4 in the shootout. Would be currently tied for first place if they didn't blow the point in Detroit. That said can't complain about 5-0-1 in the last six games.

Gutty win after losing the lead and being badly outplayed in the 3rd. They need to do a better job clearing on the pk and in the 3rd tilting the ice but points are points.

They play hard every game which is something I can't say about AV's teams the last 2 years. DeAngelo is getting better and better. He's impressed me more than Pionk last night. That's a very good thing.

Agree that DeAngelo is playing better...he is fast but is undersized and that is always a concern for D-men especially on this team as they struggle with puck possession in the defensive zone. I know Hayes gets a lot of heat here but despite his lack of scoring I see him as one of the more reliable forwards and certainly top three in terms of play-making on the team.
