Though the drive has been low-key to this point, officials at Bluefield College are exploring the possibility of restarting their football program.
An advertisement for a full-time football coach recently appeared on the NAIA and Bluefield College websites.

Bluefield College, tucked between the prep football hotbeds of Southwest Virginia and southern West Virginia, last fielded a team in 1941.
The topic of expanding the athletic program at Bluefield has simmered for decades. And in 2006, the Bluefield College Board of Trustees requested that the school administration study the feasibility of football.

Bluefield College athletic director Ewell Vernon confirmed that BC officials are considering football in an interview before Bluefield opened play Saturday in the Appalachian Athletic Conference baseball tournament in Kingsport.
