"Peter McLoughlin, chief executive of St. Louis Blues Enterprises, is leaving the club to become president of the NFL's Seattle Seahawks, multiple sources told the Post-Dispatch. A news conference making the announcement is planned for today in Seattle. McLoughlin will succeed native St. Louisan Tod Lieweke, who recently stepped down as CEO of the Seahawks to become a part owner and team president of the NHL Tampa Bay Lightning. McLoughlin joined the Blues in 2006, after Dave Checketts purchased the franchise and created a two-sided business model. John Davidson was hired as president of the hockey team and McLoughlin became CEO of a newly formed St. Louis Blues Enterprises. He oversaw business operations of the Blues and Scottrade Center, including sales, marketing and finance. McLoughlin orchestrated the multi-million-dollar deal with Scottrade for naming rights of the arena, and he was also involved in several successful ticket promotions. The Blues had only three sellouts in 2005-06 and 2006-07 combined but have sold out 64 regular-season games over the past two seasons. It is not clear how the Blues plan to execute McLoughlin's duties, though Blues vice chairman Mike McCarthy will probably take on a greater, hands-on role in the team's daily operations. McCarthy has been a partner of SCP Worldwide, which owns the Blues, since 2005." http://www.stltoday.com/sports/hockey/professional/article_cd875639-2061-5fd2-9b55-b871ece8bf73.html
