"Those who missed Monday's matinee between the Blues and Anaheim Ducks because they couldn't get out of work have much catching up to do.

The crowd of 19,150 saw the Blues rewrite the record books with the two fastest goals and the widest shot differential in club history, watched Alex Steen nearly outshoot the Ducks by himself, learned who Matt D'Agostini was and saw firsthand the world-class potential of Alex Pietrangelo.

It all happened in 2 hours, 34 minutes inside a rambunctious Scottrade Center and contributed to a 5-1 victory for the Blues, who are now 2-0 and starting to create a strong personality on the ice.

"We've got personalities, there's no question about that," Blues coach Davis Payne said, smirking. "This team understands what it means to come in, work, and what comes out of that. It's a great starting point for us."

Seems Anaheim is finally on the decline. They have a solid core, but the extra pieces don't seem to be there for them.

I watched the 1st and 3rd period of the game, and it wasn't even close! St. Louis dominated from the drop of the puck to the end of the game. Surprising that the Ducks even got 1.
