Sacramento Bee: Kings guard Bobby Jackson will be named the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year today, according to league sources.

Jackson was the runner-up last season to former Kings and current Detroit Pistons forward Corliss Williamson but received the nod this year in voting from the league's writers and broadcasters.

bobby jackson is awesome. he did a marvelous job maintaining the kings when bibby was out for the first few weeks. also, he's the only king that i'd like to have on the lakers. props to bobby.

finally a worthy recipient of an award. i'm still fuming on the coach of year award. horrible decision. amare was the right choice for ROY. i'm curious to see who the MIP is, a lot of great choices.

How many games does a player start before he is not allowed to win 6th man of the year. I mean Bobby Jackson started 26 games out of 82 games(because Bibby was injured). Anyway he did earn it and the Kings looked like their good self with him and not Bibby.

Mike redd deserved this award...hell even corliss for the 2nd straighty year.Bobby started 26 games and was out injuried 6 weeks..bobby is the best bench player in the NBA but he shouldn't of gotten it this year.Mike redd was more deserving....you need to actually play and start on the bench most of the games to get the award..thats why it is called 6TH MAN OF THE YEAR!!

why the hell should they trade him? he gets good minutes at the kings and has a good shot as the ring.Besides he has already played for the nuggets but they got rid of him....kings would be stupid to try and trade him.

I wouldn't bash them if they weren't so stupid (no offence) there would be no reason to trade Bjax away..he had his time with the nuggets and he wasn't very good...he is at a place where he gets enough credit for what he does.He has a shot at a title...no reason to go anywhere.

allnet if you are going to slam bjax for starting games, then why does redd deserve the award? he started 14 games this season when ray ray was injured.

Redd started 14 games...jackson started 26 games!!!! and redd wasn't out injuried for over 6 weeks...i can't see how you can give the award to a guy who basically played only 50 odd games and started 26 times.

i think they look at the difference the person makes on the court. i know there is a formula to determine a players contributions. i think that's what gave bjax the edge over redd.

Definitely, Bobby Jackson deserved it...Redd and Mason were up there, but Jackson was the clear winner.
