<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">If the Charlotte Bobcats stay at Nos. 5 and 13, coach-general manager Bernie Bickerstaff says there's a strong possibility they'd draft a point guard.

Bickerstaff didn't sound particularly hopeful Tuesday that the Bobcats would trade up, as they did last June to select forward Emeka Okafor. Instead, the Bobcats might take whichever of three point guards -- Chris Paul, Deron Williams or Raymond Felton -- is still available at No. 5.

"The way we feel, one of those point guards will still be there and there's not that much separation between them," Bickerstaff told the Observer.

Of those three -- Wake Forest's Paul, Illinois' Williams and North Carolina's Felton -- Felton seems the most likely to be around at five. He's not quite the ballhandler that Paul is nor the defender Williams is, but he improved his shooting and ran a team of strong personalities that won the national championship.

Bickerstaff also wants to audition Georgia Tech point guard Jarrett Jack.

The Bobcats have one point guard, Jason Hart, under contract for next season, and hope to re-sign starter Brevin Knight. But Bickerstaff said often last season that he'd like a third point guard to develop.

Bickerstaff hasn't dismissed the idea of trading up, but he has misgivings about losing the fifth pick and the 13th (formerly Cleveland's pick) for any one player in this draft.

"We're not in a situation where we're desperate" for any one player, he said. "We need talent" at multiple positions.

Sources indicate the Bobcats would love to draft North Carolina freshman forward Marvin Williams. However, he appears a top-three lock and a possibility for the No. 1 overall pick.</div>
