<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Charlotte Bobcats owner Bob Johnson said Wednesday he will launch his own regional sports network to broadcast NBA games in the Carolinas.

Carolinas Sports Entertainment Television will debut in October in North and South Carolina -- in time for the inaugural season of the NBA expansion Bobcats.

"Sports, in my opinion, is inherently local," said Johnson, who made his fortune as founder of Black Entertainment Television. "This Carolina Sports Entertainment Television is a major step in binding this region together for sports and entertainment."
C-SET will air about 60 Bobcats games live, along with pre-game and post-game shows and a weekly coach's show. The network also plans to broadcast about 15 of Charlotte Sting's WNBA games and a Daily Sports Report.</div>

This is awesome. Johnson has said for a while that he would do just that, and Charlotte really needs its own regional sports channel. Now its official.

    Poor decision

I think this a very bad decision by Bob Johnson not to have it available via satellite for atleast the 1st year. I read this on one of the other message boards, I Think it was cityalive.com and someone had wrote that he heard that it would not be available the 1st year via satellite in a Ed Tapscott interview on WFNZ radio in Charlotte. I think this is very bad move on his part, who agrees? It is only available on Digital Cable thru Time Warner in Charlotte, NC beginning in October. We can't afford it. Ther are a very few that can afford it. I think he said he wants to reach 60% of viewers. This will not work in my opinion.
