The Bobcats suffered their first loss of the summer losing to the Atlanta Hawks with a final score of 87-62. Both Gerald Wallace and Tamar Slay were left off the Bobcats' roster in the Reebok Rocky Mountain Revue summer league. Loren Woods continued his strong play with 13 points, 16 rebounds and 3 blocks. Maurice Carter led the Bobcats with a team high 15 points, while Jason Kapono and Danny Johnson added 10 points a piece.

Atlanta's Josh Smith led his team with a game high 21 points. The Bobcats were in control at halftime after finishing strong in the first half, however, they looked out of synch in the second half as Atlanta ran away with the game in the 4th quarter out-scoring the Bobcats 31-12.

Bobcats assistant coach Gary Kloppenburg had this to say about the loss...

?We just didn?t have it today, we didn?t play well. We had trouble handling the ball and our turnovers hurt us because they converted on the other end. Our guys are resilient. They aren?t happy right now and I know we?ll bounce back tomorrow and have a much better performance.?

The Bobcats will play tomorrow against the San Antonio Spurs at 4 p.m. ET.

Oh well u win some and u lose some. But it shows that Tamar Slay and Gerald Wallace should both be definently on the team. It alson show Loren Woods is able to keep up this form he's playing well maybe well enough to be centre and let emeka take PF?? Jason Kapono or Tamar Slay for starter??
