Gerald Wallace scored a game-best 29 points, including 16 points in the opening half, and added 10 reobunds, five assists and three steals to lead the effort. Loren Woods also added a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. ?Our offense was there in the first half and defense got a late wakeup call,? said Jeff Capel, the team?s assistant coach who guided the team. ?All of the guys played well today. They protected the ball and the boards.? Charlotte again controlled the first quarter, holding the lead the entire period and shooting .450 (9-20) from the field. The Bobcats led 10-8 and scored nine-straight points for a 19-8 advantage. Wallace tallied 11 points in the quarter and Charlotte led 26-19 at the end of the period. Philadelphia battled back in the second quarter to tie the game at 41-41 and the Sixers then took a 48-46 lead. That run put Charlotte behind in a game for the first time of the summer league. Both teams shot the ball well in the second period as the Sixers hit .611 and Charlotte was .500 from the field. The score was tied at 48-48 at halftime with Wallace scoring 16 points and Philadelphia?s Willie Green tallying 16 of his 20 first-half points in the second period. The score was tied 52-52 in the third quarter and the Bobcats burst out in the quarter, using a 15-2 run to take a 69-55 lead the team would not relinquish. Charlotte shot .500 from the field in the period. Charlotte finished the game strong by extending a six-point lead to as many as 21 points in the fourth quarter and the Bobcats held Philadelphia to .300 (3-10) shooting in the final quarter. Rookie Bernard Robinson and Jason Kapono each scored 10 points and Danny Johnson and Corey Benjamin tallied nine points each. The Bobcats (4-0) play Detroit in the final game of the Minnesota Summer League on Saturday.</div> Gerald Wallace had an amazing game tonight. Good start hope we can take this momentum all the way through to the real season, Gerald Wallace is way too underrated. Kapono isnt what he's advertised as, I saw game 3 and he didnt impress me niether are the box scores.
