Keith Bogans making ppl talk about the "Rookie from Kentucky."

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Jan. 29 -- So far, Orlando rookie Keith Bogans' pro career has been like a roller-coaster ride at the Magic Kingdom. Within the span of a few months, he's gone from overlooked second-round draft pick to summer-league standout to injured rookie to up-and-comer. The bottom line when it comes to Bogans, however, is that the 6-5 swingman out of Kentucky has range, defensive prowess and athleticism to spare. NBA.com caught up with Bogans to see how his rookie season was going. Here's what he had to say about everything from three-pointers to the No. 3.</div>[IMG]

oh well keep it up Bogans maybe youll make the soph team next year.

Honestly I didn't expect anything from him when we traded for him on draft night. I really didn't expect anything when he started on the injured list, but somehow he got minutes and he's excelled in them. I'm glad we traded to get him, I bet Milwaukee wishes they kept him. Bogans will be good. He definetely should be on the sophmore team next year.

He is like Dalembert, as he matures and times goes by. He'll pick up experience and become a really good player. I mean look at it this way, how good are Redd and Randolph gonna be? Bogans looks like he could end up like that with a lot of time, effort and a huge improvement on his current and undeniable skills.

Bogans is what T-Mac has been praying for. A player that can help him run the team. That's what I think bogans is doing that as of now. He's just so energetic all around the floor on offense and defense. If you don't know what I'm talking about watch him play a game or two.

Dalembert is another young guy thats impressed me.. Him and Bogans are gonna be something in the future..

I've always thought Bogans was gonna be it after that first game he played.. Whether it be this year, next year, or later.. He is gonna be a good player.. Hes proving it right now.. He was overlooked.. Traded and now hes making all the teams that passed him up, and the team that traded him pay for overlooking him.. I really like Bogans because of the way he plays.. He hustles for the rebounds that go up.. He gets in peoples face while shooting.. And he takes a good shot.. He can make three pointers and he can play defense.. He can shoot.. and he can put good defense on someone.. I hope Bogans does well for the Magic in future years, and stays..

I first thought that Keith Bogans would turn out to be like Jeryl Sasser and Steve Hunter: a bust. Turns out that he's better than all those aforementioned players and probably will always be. He's playing with a lot of maturity as a rookie, and as time goes by, he'll explode.

Steve Hunter isn't bust as a player. He's a bust with the team he's on. We just don't give him alot of minutes for some odd reason. When he gets traded to that right team we are all sure that he'll turn into a blocking machine.

Yep. Steven Hunter will be on that list of players that do great after they leave Orlando. Joining Big Ben, Matt Harpring, Corey Maggette, Shaq and others.

well you guys got the words right out of my mouth...Steven Hunter is no bust.He plays Good Average defense...he is actually the only realistic shot blocker for the magic right now...and he can still manage to get some points near the basketball , he needs to work on his FT Shooting tho.

He also needs to work on getting a hitman to shoot Declerq so him and Zaza would get a lot of PT. Even though no one other than JD and Gabe will miss him.

LMAO. I think that Johnny Davis and Gabe should get fired. I think they don't know what they are doing. But that's just me.

Gaines and Zaza are playing now for the Magic in a huge blowout to the raptors.

Yeah they played real well last night. Wish we could've gotten the W though.

I'll start up a little debate here.

Keith Bogans shouldn't be on the rookie roster. Why you ask?

    His slow start.

He started the season on the IL and slowly brought his game along. For the month of November he averaged 4.5 points and 4.5 rebounds. In December, his numbers were 3.5 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. He finally picked things up in January with 11.4 points and 5.2 rebounds, but one month shouldn't justify an entire season.

Put blame on the coaches if you want, for not giving him the minutes. That may very well be the case, but it's irrelevant when selecting players for the Rookie team.

Please stay on topic as well. Gaines, Hunter and Williams have nothing to do with Bogan's and his possibilities on the Rookie team.

I think he should be on there. He just hustles up and down the court defense and offense. What more can you ask than that. Sure his start wasn't the best but he's proved himself by now hasn't he? I think so. This rookie will be something to reckon with in the future. He's making his name known as a player. Yes he should be on the rookie roster IMO. He's ranked 8th in the rookie standings and can only go higher now.

with stars like Lebron and Melo ...thats why he is not in there..as well as TJ Ford..but if 2 guards get injured who would be the number 2 option after TJ Ford? ..Keith Bogans..thats right not only his great defense and offense..but how tall is he? and in those 3 months he averages like what 5 rebounds a game? thats just impressive...Ill be looking foward for him to be in the sophmore game next season tho..if he starts from the beg next season..you'll see him there trust me.
