<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Orlando Magic have been informed guard Keith Bogans will honor the final year of his contract with the team. Bogans had to declare his intentions before June 15. GM Otis Smith said he's been given "full assurance" Bogans plans to stay in the final year of his contract that will pay him $2.9 million. --</div> Florida Today
I like us keeping Keith Bogans, he really showed that he could be a solid presence off our bench last year. He plays decent defense, has a pretty good shot, is athletic, and helps to keep our all around offense going strong. I would love for us to get to re-sign Evans also, or be able to draft Brandon Rush. Evans fits with his off ball movement, and his shooting, and him with Bogans was a solid shooting guard rotation I thought. Brandon Rush would provide some defense, and be still keep up the shooting, so he fits us great. In any event, I like us being able to keep hold of Bogans, he was a good help to our winning this year. I would like to just let Carlos Arroyo, Pat Garrity and Foyle keep walking, sign back Bogans and Dooling, maybe Evans if money allows, or try to draft Brandon Rush if position allows. That is what I hope for this offseason.
Before targeting Rush, I think it'd be a better idea to get a good shooting big man down low next to Dwight. He needs some help down there. If Hibbert, Speights, or Koufos somehow fall, it'd probably be ideal for the Magic to pick em up.

Our biggest need at that point swings to a solid shooting guard, that can rotate with Evans, and keep the defense going at the guard spot. JJ Redick doesn't fill that need, and has not shown to be a solid player in large minutes at this time. Especially when you consider that our starting lineup, as far as frontcourt is concerned, isn't going to change no matter who we get. With a rotation of Howard, Hedo/Turk, Battie and Cook, should Evans not sign back with us, it will be just fine. Should Evans not sign back with us, a rotation of Bogans/Redick is not good, and we absolutely take Rush over anyone else in the draft should he be there at that point. So I completely disagree with you there. Aside from that, I doubt that Speights drops down to us at the number 22 pick, and Hibbert doesn't work for us at all. Big, Slow, foul prone, and he absolutely is not able to shoot. He has to do his work off the post up, and that's it. So with that said, I think the only big man we would get at this spot, should Evans sign back with us, is Koufous. Again, getting a big man if Evans doesn't sign back with us however, is not very smart.
