<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">ST. FRANCIS -- Even though he was nearly 10,000 miles away, Sinisa Markovic could sense something wasn?t right with his friend and pupil Andrew Bogut. Sitting in his home in Melbourne, Australia, Markovic?s eyes were glued to the tube, intently watching Bogut as he struggled in a game for the Milwaukee Bucks. Markovic had seen Bogut play innumerable times in the last six years, but never to that extent. Markovic, a highly-regarded basketball coach in Melbourne who met Bogut when the latter was a teenager, could tell Bogut was frustrated. ?I could see it through the television,?? Markovic said. ?You could see it in his body language on the court. I assumed sooner or later the phone would ring.?? Markovic?s assumption was correct. Just days later, Bogut called him. And it wasn?t to wish Markovic and his wife, Sue-Anne, and their four-year-old daughter, Maya, a merry Christmas. Markovic could tell by the tone of Bogut?s voice that there was something more serious on his mind. ?He said, ?Hey, what are you doing?? ?? Markovic said. ?He said, ?I lost a little confidence. I need you to come up here.? I said, ?Not a problem. When?? ?He rang me on Wednesday. I flew up there on Sunday.?? Markovic then chuckled and said, ?When the sh-- hits the fan, I?m here for him.?? And things got particularly messy on Dec. 9 when Bogut hit the low point of his young NBA career. In a game against the New York Knicks, the 7-foot center played only 16 minutes. He went 1-for-5 from the field for two points. It wasn?t the type of performance one would expect from a player who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2005 NBA draft.</div> Source
When I read this in school tday I was happy because it shows maturity that Bogut is not afraid to come out and say that he has not been playing the way he wants to. Kudos for Bogut
wow, markovic was a coach of mine through an intensive basketball camp and came to a couple of my games and invited me to try out for the state team, i am not joking
