<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"I'm bigger,'' said Bogut, whom the Milwaukee Bucks are likely to make the No. 1 selection in the June 28th NBA draft. "I was 235 then, and now I'm 255. I've been eating like a pig. I'm having five, six meals a day now.'' At that point, my cynical side kicked in and I asked if his newly-chiseled body was really the result of good, nutritional eating, or if it was the product of the same kind of pollutants Jason Giambi and Jose Canseco used to scarf down.

"No mate, I'm not doing steroids,'' the affable Aussie quickly assured me.

Bogut then grinned and added, "You can test my you know what if you want.'' I quickly responded that wouldn't be necessary. All I know is Bogut, who will be an NBA baby when he takes the court next season at age 20 for the Bucks, is already a mountain of a man. I can't imagine what he'll be like when he's fully grown up.

Media darling I really don't care if the Bucks pick Bogut or North Carolina forward Marvin Williams, although from a selfish standpoint, I'm pulling for Bogut.

That's because he has all the makings of being a quote machine. Nothing against Williams, who is friendly and polite, but Bogut is about as refreshingly candid and responsive as any athlete I've ever come across.

For instance, when I questioned Bogut about his athleticism, or supposed lack of athleticism, he stared me down like I had deprived him of one of those meals and sternly said, "Come and watch one of my workouts if you believe that.'' Or how about when Bogut was asked what his feelings would be if the Bucks passed on him because of an alleged eye problem. He said, "That's their loss.'' And then there was Bogut's reaction to when he was asked about some public and, yes, media perception that because he is white and big, he'll be a bust in the NBA: "The whole big, great white stiff thing comes up every now and then. There's been some others who have been No. 1 that haven't been white that haven't done much. There's the Kwame Browns of the world.'' </div>

    Bogut is definitely quotable.

I agree 100%. The kid hasn't even played one game in the NBA yet, and he's already made quite the commotion with a few of his quotes. Here are my two favorites thus far -

    (On the Hawks)
"Every time they read about me having eye problems or Rick Majerus pushing for Marvin Williams, they love it. They're rolling on the floor," Bogut said. "I think they're hoping I'm there when they pick."

    and

"I've dominated at every level I've played at and the Bucks need a center," Bogut said. "I think people keep saying I can't be No. 1 because of the myth of the great white stiff."

Bogut is definitely a great interview.

I've heard snibbits of him this past year and he does not pull any punches. He is as direct and as confident as they come. A lot of people are unsure about this kid but believe you me, I'm not. He is the closest thing that I've seen to Tim Duncan. And not to say that he'll be better than Duncan, b/c he won't, but he is definitely a lot more mean and intense.

Milwaukee fans should relish in the fact that they have a bona fide franchise player coming to them next season. This kid is a stud on and off the court.
